Abstract

The deep drawing process is a metal forming technology that requires the analysis of several influencing factors. Its finite element simulation is a challenge because it is a variable nonlinear stress-strain state within a sheet that must meet four conditions. Two models have been developed to determine the value of plastic deformation, updated Lagrangian formulation and Eulerian formulation. When processed in the cold or at room temperature, there is a pronounced hardening effect based on Drucker's postulate for stable plastic materials or the postulate of plastic potential. The generated FEM model for deep drawing follows the temperature field, velocity field and plastic deformations in the wall of the extracted element at the given transitional radius of the punch and the die.
